Project Scope

The East St. Tammany Parish of Habitat for Humanity was incorporated in 1992 by a small group of citizens who wanted to help low-income families in their community. The organization spearheaded by Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) began offering families the life-changing opportunity to purchase and own safe, decent, affordable housing in Eastern St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.

DigitalChores was hired as a development agency to redesign their decade-old website that was not user-friendly, mobile-friendly, and needed the best user experience.

Challenges

Their first goal was to increase online donations because the old design did not allow for a seamless donation process. The website was also very slow to open when led to a very high bounce rate. The second challenge was they were being held hostage by their 3rd party website developer because of their high dependency.

Solution

Together with our client, we set up a very well-organized project plan. Communication and collaboration were confined to one channel, this helped us manage communication and avoid an abundance of information.

Besides emails, we used ClickUp as our project management tool and slack for daily communication. This enhanced the project and gave East St. Tammany visibility into the project from initiation to project close. We were able to deliver the project ahead of the estimated timeline.

Final Results

At the end of the project, a beautifully well-crafted website was delivered to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Updated website with modern design
  • Ability to update content, and post on the blog without contacting website developer
  • Increase in online donations by 15% in the first 2 weeks of launch

Kentrell Jones, the executive director of The East St. Tammany Parish of Habitat for Humanity expressed joy saying:

So Exciting!!!! Thank you for everything!!! I did have some clients go to the site to fill out a form and that worked perfectly. I am pleased with the overall look and feel of the site.
