Project Scope

Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC) strives to provide world-class clinical care in a safe and compassionate patient-centered environment to residents of Dorchester, MA.

Their previous community health center website design just did not represent the brand in a positive light. It was not clear where patients had to go to schedule appointments and have the relevant patient information. This led to the center being inundated with calls for simple things like how do I find a provider or schedule my COVID vaccine appointment.

One of the primary project goal is to implement a clear website navigation to ensure easy access to information and support accessibility.

Challenges

For the project, the main challenge was transforming HSNHC’s outdated website into something fresh, modern, new and easy on the eye. The old website was developed with dinosaur technology, and as expected, it just did not age very well with the times, from the design to the layout and it’s responsiveness on mobile devices.

HSNHC came to DigitalChores to help modernize the look and feel of their website to give the community health center a more polished, trustworthy, and professional feel.

Solution

We tasked our UI/UX designer Shaun to reimagine Harvard Street’s website because of his niche experience in creating effective websites for the medical industry.

As part of our agile project management processes, we initially met with the HSNHC team to have conversations around the most important information patients should have quick access to. We allowed the team to share with us their major concerns and design inspirations we will consider for the overall website facelift.

The decision to appoint Shaun as the lead designer paid off greatly! We were able to complete our entire design phase within the 2 weeks allocated for it the project plan.

The new website was successfully designed, developed, tested and launched a week ahead of our initial project timeline.

Final Results

The new HSNHC website complimented its communication tool as a very strong brand asset. In its first week post-launch, the website increased speed by 166% as seen in its very strong on-page engagement numbers.

within 60 days following the site launch, we saw great improvements in the website’s performance and analytics. Pageviews and patient appointments increased by at least 56% in the first 60 days.
