Project Scope

Patients used to just listen to the doctor, but now they like to learn about their health online. They use the internet to see what medicine helps, make appointments, find their provider, and even pay their bills. So, a good hospital website is like a helpful friend – it’s easy to use, works fast, and gives you all the info you need.

With this in mind, Charles River Community Health partnered with DigitalChores to update their website because it was kinda old and dusty. They needed one that was bright, easy to understand, and worked great on phones and tablets, just like your favorite games!

Ready to hear what they did to make their website awesome? Buckle up, it’s gonna be a fun ride!

Challenges

We love a new kind of challenge, and CRCH came to us with a great one. Even though their team has 50+ years of experience and has already driven massive success for the Waltham community, their website was very old school, with some pages not working correctly, and nearly impossible to update and manage the content in the CMS.

The Charles River team knew it was time for a website redesign; their current website had usability, organization, and functionality issues, causing problems for patients and the staff. The challenge and goal for this project was to redesign the website from the ground up.

Solution

We started with a clear project plan, redesigned the website architecture, and planned functionality based on our extensive experience with community health websites and researched the current market trends and best practices.

Once we came up with the first draft, we presented it to the CEO – Liz on why we think this layout is the best solution and the benefits for the Waltham community and the organization. Within 1-2 iterations, Liz approved the mockups and we started the design.

Since the foundation was already laid, the design itself was very easy to piece together. All unique pages were presented to make sure we were staying with the vision of a clear and easy-to-navigate website.

DigitalChores creative team, did a bunch of neat things to make it so great:

  • Organized the Website: They built a map to help everyone find what they need quickly, just like a treasure map! ️
  • Modern Makeover: They gave the website a fresh, new look that’s fun and easy to understand, even for grown-ups who sometimes struggle with technology.
  • Built it from Scratch: They used special tools to create the website, like building blocks, but way cooler! ️
  • Moved all the Info: They carefully packed up all the important information from the old website and brought it to the new one, like moving to a new house.

Final Results

Charles River was given a community health center website makeover! And guess what? It’s already working like magic!

Here’s how the new website redesign is helping the hospital:

  • Fast! The website loads 69% faster, which means no more waiting around for pictures and pages to pop up. You can zoom through it like a rocket!
  • More Friends! The new website is like a magnet for new patients. The number of people finding the hospital in the Waltham area has gone up by 32%
  • Happy Phones! Mobile phones love the new website too! They used to bounce away quickly, but now they want to stick around and explore. The number of phones leaving early has dropped by 42%!
