Project Scope

The Bronx Community Foundation is the first and only community foundation in The Bronx, solely dedicated to delivering resources to the borough. Their previous website was very difficult for the community to find relevant information, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when they needed the information the most.

Our goal was to create clear navigation with a much organized Information Architecture that all members of the community can easily follow. BxCF had well-established and vibrant branding. Our objective was to focus on revamping the site’s look and feel with fresh photography that represented their community.

Challenges

BxCF had well-established and vibrant branding. Our style conversations were focused on revamping the site’s look and feel with fresh photography to support their secondary objective. We planned to make much larger use of authentic photos, to give potential members an instant connection with their community. The design goal was to instantly evoke NVC’s relevance to the Bronx Community.

Solution

The design and programming or this custome developed website was a heavy lift and once it was complete, we had a lot testing to do! DigitalChores made sure that there were no bugs, glitches or code venerabilities since there are thousands of people in the Bronx depending on the thebronx.org for information.

We also made sure the website responded well on all devices and internet broswers so everything access information on the website can find what they are looking for.

Final Results

We created a website we are proud of and so is the team at the Bronx Community Foundation. The website met all the requirements we discussed during the Project Scope phase. The backend is extremely easy to use for their non-technical staff, which gives BxCF the flexibility to update the website without relying on a web developer.

BxCF appreciated the end result and enlisted DigitalChores services to help with creating landing pages for their marketing campaigns along with designing their email newsletters.

And oh, DigitalChores was kept to provide ongoing website support and maintenance.

The website looks great aesthetically. It really looks fantastic with the full-color. – Desmon W. Lewis (Co-Founder, The Bronx Community Foundation)
